Congratulations!
We are proud that Humana People to People Bulgaria was recognised as a green company in the 2025 National Competition "The Greenest Companies in Bulgaria"! They received two prestigious awards. The 2025 awards were presented at an official ceremony at the Intercontinental Hotel in Sofia. The national competition, organised by b2b Media, was held for the 15th time and honoured companies in the private and public sectors for their initiatives and causes for a healthier environment. Over the past 15 years the competition has become a benchmark in green initiatives.
The first prize was in the category of "Recycling Industry, Waste Management in honour of the sustained efforts spanning 20 years with the HUMANA People to People business model, with which we have been contributing to reducing climate change and reducing environmental pollution through the collection and sale of second-hand clothes and shoes. Reusing and recycling of clothes contributes to the fight against global warming by reducing CO2 emissions, landfill waste and unnecessary demand on existing resources necessary to produce the materials associated with manufacturing new clothes.
The other category was "Green Educational Initiative" to honour the urban agriculture project 3C, which promotes healthy food production and sustainable urban agriculture. The 3C project has been running for the past 6 years, with volunteers united by common values to promote and protect the environment and sustainable agriculture in urban areas.
This achievement is a milestone, considering that the world, especially the European Union, is working towards a circular textile economy with Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) and Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulations (ESPR) as the key drivers. These awards clearly indicate that HUMANA People to People Bulgaria is in keeping with the global narrative, such as the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, focusing on environmental protection.
