Objectives
The objectives of Humana People to People in Ecuador is to create development in the widest sense. Especially through the transfer of knowledge, abilities and capacity to individuals and communities that need help to overcome poverty and dehumanized conditions. Additionally to promote humankind's humanization, to protect the weak ones, those excluded and to oppose all forms of discrimination, oppression and exploitation.
Strategies for development The initial strategy for creating development is to implement the Child Aid projects in Ecuador. The first two projects are situated on the outskirt areas of two towns, El Triunfo and Milagro, where many families are living under the poverty line (under 1 – 2 dollars per person per day). Child Aid is a community development project which builds capacities within the families, in order for them to become the driving force in creating change and progress in their local communities for the children to grow up healthy and with possibilities for using their full potential. Families are organized together to address a range of community development issues simultaneously, including health, income generation, education, municipal development, environmental awareness and through this give better opportunities for children and youth.
Poverty Fighters (International volunteers) are an integral part of the projects.
Humana People to People in Ecuador is a member of The Federation Humana People to People.
