TCE Amathole participates in World AIDS Day in South Africa

Many activities take place on 1 December and the following days to create awareness of HIV/AIDS in cooperation with Ministry of Health.

The World AIDS Day is carried out at local and at district level.

Mnquma Local Municipality

TCE Amathole is attending the World AIDS Day today the 1^st of December in Mnquma Local Municipality at Butterworth Stadium. All the 50 Field Officers are participating for Troop 1 in their red Uniforms. The Department of Health is going to put stands for testing all over the place. TCE is mobilizing people for VCT, TB, and STIs.  TCE is also distributing condoms. TCE is expecting to mobilize 100 people for HIV testing and 24 000 condoms to be distributed. There is also a TCE exhibition where people are going to get more information and understand about TCE.

Great Kei Local Municipality

The World AIDs Day for Great Kei is on the 2^nd of December 2009. TCE is going to participate in the same way as they are doing in Mnquma by mobilizing people to get tested for HIV including TB and STIs. The target for testing is 100 people and 24 000 condoms to be distributed.

Amathole District

TCE  Amathole is also going to participate at district level on Thursday the 10^th of December 2009.

The target for testing is 300 and  40 000 condoms to be distributed.
